According to a police source, Griffin — a recent graduate of SUNY Albany — had no problems inside the bar but was accosted when he climbed behind the wheel of the SUV. Two men, including one with a handgun, intended to simply rob their target of his jewelry but Griffin was instead shot twice in the back, the source indicated.
