WNN – Cellular service is expanding along Highway 14 between Sooke and Port Renfrew in Vancouver Island, upgrading safety along the stretch.
Expected to be completed by October, Rogers Communications is receiving $4.9 million towards the cost of building the infrastructure. Premier John Horgan said, “Whether you are lucky enough to live in Otter Point or are heading out to explore the Juan de Fuca Trail, a cellular signal provides peace of mind knowing that you can stay in touch and call for help if it’s needed.”
Reliable cell phone connectivity in remote parts of the area and Indigenous communities is a part of a provincial grant program.
