Surrey, BC (WNews)- Reports that a Police Officer has been short at Scott Road’s Station. Report that a Officer was shot after 4:20pm according to RCMP. A Transit Police Officer was shot at Scott Road Station. Officer was transported to hospital. Officer has Seriously but not life threatening injuries and was taken to Royal Columbia Hospital in New West.

The Surrey Now-Leader learned that the name of the officer that was shot is Josh Harms. Josh Harms was shot twice in the arm on the Scott Road Platform.

Police has blocked off Scott Road Station and King George West bound as they investigate the shooting. RCMP reported that Transit Officer was injured and is expected to fully recover. Scott Road Station is closed and a bus bridge has originally formed at New West Station and Gateway. Gateway Station is the only bus bridge to Scott Road.

The RCMP has released a description of the suspect late Wednesday. The suspect is dark skin male in his 20s with dark stubble. He was wearing a blue hoodie. The SWAT surrounded a house which loud bangs was heard by neighbours.

At a press conference on Wednesday night, Surrey’s top cop Dwayne McDonald confirmed that a house was surrounded but wouldn’t elaborate. He also said police are talking to a “substantial amount” of witnesses.

McDonald said the suspect is a man in his 20s with “dark skin” and dark stubble wearing a blue hoodie.

He also mentioned that Surrey RCMP have set up a tip line for people to call: 604-502-6284.

RCMP released a statement saying that the situation is unfolding and asking the public to stay away from the area as the Suspect is expected to be armed.
