A snowboarder has died at the Mount Washington ski resort on Vancouver Island.
According to a release from the resort, a male snowboarder was found unresponsive in a treed area within the resort’s boundaries on Monday.
“This is a very sad tragedy,” said resort manager Peter Gibson in the release. “Everyone here at the resort sends our sincerest condolences to the family and friends.”
The snowboarder’s death comes a day after massive snowfall closed down the resort.
