AOC raises alarm about ‘disturbing’ Rikers Island conditions putting inmates at risk of COVID

Inmates contacted Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s office complaining that their detention center had poor air quality, leaky ceilings and inadequate access to soap and water despite NYC’s worsening COVID-19 outbreak.
