A Sonoma County man was arrested after igniting an explosive device and throwing it under a Sonoma County Sheriff’s patrol car on Friday afternoon.

The deputy who was driving the vehicle was getting lunch at a nearby Safeway in Guerneville when the incident occurred and was not injured.

A loud explosion was heard from inside the store and as the deputy ran out, he saw people pointing to a man running away and being chased by an off-duty law enforcement
