DriveBC is advising motorists to steer clear of the Alex Fraser Bridge after an accident left a pickup truck teetering on the centre median.

The left lanes are blocked in both directions. The centre lane in the southbound direction has reopened after having also been closed earlier.

There is no word on what caused the accident. 

Congestion is heavy in both directions and there are lengthy delays getting around the trouble as crews attempt to clear the problem.
