The Lheidli T’enneh First Nation wants an impromptu memorial for victims of Canada’s residential school system to be turned into a permanent monument in the city of Prince George, B.C.

Over the past week people have been leaving shoes, stuffed animals and other items on the steps of city hall after the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc First Nation said preliminary findings from a survey of the grounds at the former Kamloops Indian Residential School uncovered what
