Vancouver, Canada (WNews): 2019 is just beginning in Canada as the parties begin to wrap up the spring session in Ottawa. Canada Three Parties are expected to begin campaign later this Spring after the Governor-General is expected to call Elections.

The Liberal Party of Canada

The Liberal Party of Canada is the oldest and longest-serving governing political party in Canada. The Liberals form the current government, elected in 2015.

Conservative Party of Canada

The Conservative Party of Canada, colloquially known as the Tories, is a federal political party in Canada. It was formed in 2003 from the multiple right-wing parties which had existed in Canada for over a century, historically grouped into two camps, “Red Tories” and “Blue Tories”.

People Party of Canada

The People’s Party of Canada is a right-wing federal political party in Canada. The party was formed by Maxime Bernier, a former cabinet minister and leadership candidate for the Conservative Party of Canada on September 14, 2018, shortly after his resignation from the Conservative party.

New Democratic Party

The New Democratic Party is a social democratic federal political party in Canada. The party was founded in 1961 out of the merger of the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation with the Canadian Labour Congress. The party sits to the left of the Liberal Party of Canada within the Canadian political spectrum.

Founded: August 3, 1961
Preceded by: Co-operative Commonwealth Federation, New Party

Green Party

The Green Party of Canada is a federal political party in Canada that was founded in 1983. It has been led by Elizabeth May since 26 August 2006. The party broke 1% of the popular vote in the 2004 federal election when it received 4.3% and qualified for federal funding.

Bloc Québécois

The Bloc Québécois is a federal political party in Canada devoted to Quebec nationalism and the promotion of Quebec sovereignty. The Bloc was formed by Members of Parliament who defected from the federal Progressive Conservative Party and Liberal Party during the collapse of the Meech Lake Accord.
