The upper portion of the Mount Seymour parking lot is closed as officials investigate a police incident.

Police said a distress call for an incident along the Dog Mountain trail came in early Thursday morning.

Several heavily armed members of the RCMP’s Emergency Response Team started up the trailhead on snowshoes just before 7:30 a.m. PT.

North Shore Rescue crews are also in the parking lot on standby.
