Bear season numbers down in Pennsylvania

The numbers were way down this year for Pennsylvania’s four day bear season.

The state-wide harvest for the season that ended last Wednesday was 1796. That’s about a 30% decrease over 2016.

One hunter in western Pennsylvania bagged a male bear estimated to weigh about 700 pounds.
