Role of police in responding to NYC students’ mental health crises has grown: report

The number of times in which officers were involved in incidents involving students in mental health distress grew from 2,700 in the 2016-2017 school year to about 3,500 in the 2017-2018 school year, a jump of about 30%, an analysis from Advocates for Children found.
