‘They lied to us’: Pending lawsuit in COVID-19 nursing home death in N.Y. could open the doors for families to sue facilities

Haydee Pabey, whose mother also died of COVID-19 in a nursing home, already filed her own Manhattan Federal Court lawsuit and is closely following Rivera-Zayas’ case. Elba Pabey, 72, died after contracting the virus at the Isabella Geriatric Center in Washington Heights, said Pabey, an NYPD detective.
