Former Bellevue officer sues department for defamation after he resigned over false allegations of domestic abuse

Former Bellevue officer John Kivlin alleges the department never talked to him before suspending him and ultimately forcing him to resign over domestic-violence allegation that Kivlin said he could have proved were false. The woman, with whom he had an extramarital affair, has since been charged for malicious prosecution and has fled the country.
