‘A flood of tips’ led Seattle police to identify a man suspected of hate crimes targeting Asians

King County prosecutors say David Altomare, 28, was apparently triggered by conspiracy theories about the novel coronavirus and President Trump’s use of the term “China virus” to describe the illness that’s spawned a global pandemic. Altomare has been charged with hate crimes, accused of targeting Asians.
