In filing deadline surprise, controversial state Rep. Matt Shea won’t seek reelection

The surprise decision by Rep. Matt Shea came after he had for months defiantly refused calls from Republican and Democratic leaders to resign, vowing to fight on and not bow down to what he called “a coup” against him.
