NYC transit workers, cops, firefighters can’t smoke marijuana despite legalization

Marijuana remains illegal under federal law, and workers whose jobs are regulated by the feds would still be fired if they test positive for the drug during a test. That includes more than 50,000 MTA workers with “safety-sensitive jobs,” said the agency’s chief safety officer.
