Medvedev overcomes slow start to earn another French Open win

Second seed Daniil Medvedev’s uneasy relationship with clay continued to improve as he beat American Tommy Paul to reach the French Open third round.

The 25-year-old Russian earned his first career win at Roland Garros in round one and backed that up by beating Paul in a 3-6 6-1 6-4 6-3 comeback.

Fifth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas and sixth seed Alexander Zverev both progressed on Wednesday with straight-set wins.
