Suspect charged with impaired driving after vehicle loses bumper, tire and almost hits 2 houses

Police in Airdrie, Alta., have laid impaired driving charges against a woman after a driver veered onto a lawn and nearly struck two homes, then slammed into a parked car before fleeing — minus a tire and a bumper.

Tips from the public helped police locate the vehicle in a residential area eight kilometres from the original scene, RCMP said in a release Wednesday.

A 24-year-old woman was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle and was later released on a promise to appear in court in Airdrie.
