Prime minister delaying trip to Japan due to incoming hurricane

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is delaying a trip to Japan as Hurricane Fiona is set to make landfall on the East Coast early Saturday.

Trudeau was set to depart Sunday for a three-day visit to attend the funeral of former Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe who was assassinated this summer — allegedly over his controversial ties to a church some say is a cult.

But that trip will be delayed due to the need for a potential emergency response, according to the Prime Minister’s Office.
