Michelle Carter, who sent texts urging suicide, sentenced to 2½ years in prison

Michelle Carter, who encouraged her boyfriend to kill himself in dozens of text messages and told him to “get back in” a truck filled with toxic gas received a 2½ year prison sentence Thursday on a charge of involuntary manslaughter.
