BREAKING: Facebook Services Down For Some Users Globally

WNNUpdate: Facebook, Instagram & WhatsApp services are currently facing outages for some users around the world.

Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram suffered major outages today, with reports indicating that images and videos were not loading, which impacted users in the U.S. and Europe. The outage reports started appearing on Twitter with #FacebookDown just before 8 am PDT or 11 am EDT with users reporting issues loading the services and issues with images not loading.

DownDetector, a platform which tracks website issues in real-time, recorded a huge spike in problems across some of the biggest social networking platforms in the world. A slew of users took to Twitter to voice their frustrations with the bugs and glitches—and it’s not the first major outage this week.

“Can’t view any pictures on Messenger and I can’t attach or see any pics in anything on my news feed, comments and posts,” one person complained on DownDetector, discussing Facebook. Another person added: “No pictures are loading, and I can’t generate preview pictures on links.”

Facebook tweeted a update saying that users are experiencing issues with viewing and uploading photos and videos and working on a fix. They apologize for the troubles that this has caused users.

Facebook experienced a huge outage earlier this year in March when the services including Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp were down for several hours. The caused of that outage was a server configuration issue with a update.
