Bad news: Rising CO2 probably won’t make trees store more carbon

Everyone knows plants need CO2 to grow. But does more CO2 make plants grow more and capture more CO2, mitigating climate change? Not likely, say a growing number of studies — most recently one that looked at centuries-old Canadian trees.
