Vancouver (WNewsNetwork)- An Abbotsford man is fighting to see his daughter after not seeing her for over a year.
Tim Kerr’s daughter was taken by the Ministry of Children and Family development (MCFD) aboriginal division a month after his daughter “Jane” was born in August 2008. His Daughter is not even aboriginal as either parents have aboriginal ties.
He told us with requests from MCFD that he takes Parenting class and anger management. They eventually paid for the classes.
During the time, he was involved in a investigation on charges that were later proven not to be true by the MCFD. In a email sent to us
“In which I supposedly assaulted my daughter. Ministry cleared it, about to give me my visits back and I get a phone call from the RCMP calling me and telling me that you were under investigation, on a report made that afternoon towards me regarding my daughter. After an investigation, they cleared me on both accounts. Seven months loss of visits during this investigation”
MCFD also accused Tim of using marijuanan, even though he has a medical license from the Federal Government of Canada because of his disability. He also told us that why should using marijuanan affect on how he parent.
The mother according to Mr. Kerr told his 6 year old daughter about what marijuanan smell and what it looks like as his daughter asked if he smoke the drug.
He told us that the Social Worker Falsely written his signature in a Freedom of Information Request, which Mr. Kerr found out later in another Request that he did to the MCFD.
MCFD also accused Mr. Kerr of threatening the Social Worker and her manager, which he did not do as he mentioned in the interview. He sister Jenny Kerr was there at the meeting with MCFD and said that Mr. Kerr did not make any threats of violence towards the SW or the TA.
In our interview with Mr.Kerr, he mentioned that his daughter’s mother asked though email and Facebook for drugs and alcohol on the mother birthday birthday, while in possession of his daughter during a visit that’s MCFD, in which the ministry disregarded.
What Mr. Kerr wants is to see his daughter once again, even though she’s has not been with the Ministry of Children and Family Development since last year.
