Witnesses describe seniors home fire in Deep Cove

A seniors home is on fire in the Deep Cove community of North Vancouver.

The District of North Vancouver’s emergency management department says the air quality in the area is “extremely poor.”

“Please shut all doors and windows and remain indoors if possible if you are in the area,” it said in a tweet.

Photos on social media showed smoke blanketing the area and seniors climbing down ladders with the help of firefighters.
