Survey shows Simon Fraser athletes want Clan nickname dropped

Originally called the Clansmen, but shortened to Clan, Simon Fraser University’s name was meant to honour the Scottish heritage of Sits namesake, the fur trader and explorer. Now, a majority of student athletes support changing the name as it could provoke images of the white supremacist Ku Klux Klan.
