Working from home post-pandemic could offer mixed results for women, researchers say

When it was time for Victoria resident Zahida Machan to return to work after her parental leave ended two years ago, she had to make some tough choices. 

“As a parent, you’re weighing both your desire to succeed in your career and … being there for your child,” she said. 

Machan, 40, who had previously worked in managerial-level positions in the international education sector, chose to take a more junior role that would give her the flexibility to work from home
