Seven years later, identity of dead woman still a mystery, despite state-of-the-art tests

Recently, through the help of a grant given to the city’s Medical Examiner’s office, investigators from the forensic anthropology department were able to exhume the woman’s body and perform the stable isotope test, which helped narrow down the region where she came from — the west coast and Mexico, sources said.
