Leonard Sacharoff grew up in a New Jersey anarchist utopian community, and went on to fight in some of the fiercest WWII battles with the 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, including the Battle of the Bulge. Later in life, he moved to Seattle and took up marathon running.
