Navan, Ireland (WNEWS) – A huge Michael Bublé fan, Caithríona Madden who had dinner with the star after he discovered she ate with a cardboard cut-out of him is now hoping that Bublé will hear her new Christmas song.
Madden, who’s a songwriter and music teacher recalls that she was so sick with nerves when meeting her idol that she couldn’t eat any of the sumptuous choices on the menu.
“I have been a massive fan of Michael Bublé for the past 20 years and I still have a life-sized cardboard cut-out of him,” she laughed.
“When I got the cut-out first, my friend took photos of me with it in my apartment, which included me pretending to make him dinner.
Bublé, who’s from Burnaby, Canada is known for songs like “It’s Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas” and other top Holiday songs did a tour in Dublin in 2013, called To Be Loved Tour.
“When he came to play in Dublin in 2013, my friend Maria Mason was playing violin for his concert in the then O2.
“So I was invited backstage for two hours before the concert to have dinner with him and his band and crew in the canteen.”
Choices on the menu included lamb steak with red wine sauce, griddled chicken breast and halibut fillet, but Caithríona, from outside Navan, Co. Meath admits she couldn’t stomach much.
Caithríona has since moved the cut-out of Buble to her music room as she has gotten married.
“Each year at Christmas friends and family tease me, by saying he’s coming out of his cave or he’s defrosting for Christmas. So I thought I would sing about it. That is what inspired the start of the song. My ultimate dream would be for him to hear the song.”

The song starts: “They say that you live in a cave and to me, that sounds really brave. I’d hibernate too if I were with you. We’d sing songs and drink some beer because it’s beginning to look a lot like Michael Bublé’s time of year.”
Caithríona added: “The song’s message is that what we need for Christmas is not something that can be bought in a store but the gift of love and kindness that we can share with each other.
The song was recorded with 20 local children.
Caithríona Madden dreams and hope that Michael Bublé would hear the song.
“My ultimate dream would be for him [Michael Bublé] to hear the song.”
The song can be streamed on social media on TikTok, YouTube and on all major streaming platforms.
