Snowfall warnings have been issued for a swath of the Rocky Mountains with the heaviest amounts expected to fall in the middle of the highway that connects Banff and Jasper.
“A strong southwesterly flow over the mountains will create favourable conditions for heavy snow along the Icefields Parkway Highway 93,” Environment Canada said in a release.
“Snow will continue today and tonight over the higher elevations.
As much as 10 to 20 centimetres could fall by Wednesday morning.
“The heaviest snowfall will be from Saskatchewan River Crossing to the southern sections of the Jasper region,” Environment Canada said.
