Vancouver, BC (WNEWS) – Get ready for a prolonged period of cold and snow as early winter weather is projected to hit Metro Vancouver and the rest of the province, starting this weekend. The cold and snowy weather is expected to start this weekend in Northern BC as the cold air floods down to Southern BC.

GFS 2-meter Temperature Anomaly (°C) (based on CFSR 1981-2010 Climatology)

According to the long-term forecast for Abbotsford, the low is expected to drop below -5 C on Tuesday. Some models are forecasting snow from Tuesday to Thursday for the Lower Mainland.

In Central BC, Prince George is projected to hit -15 for the low and just -8 for the high. The city is expected to reach -29 C for the low on Thursday and just -19 for the high.
