Canadians should use their provincial and territorial proof-of-vaccination documentation to travel internationally, according to government officials, although it will be up to foreign governments whether to accept it.
Those officials, speaking on background during a briefing Thursday morning, said they are confident they will be widely accepted.
“This is a Canadian document. We have agreed on standard format working with the provinces and territories, but it is a Canadian document,” said one official.
As of today, Ontario, Quebec, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Saskatchewan, Nunavut, Northwest Territories and Yukon are issuing proof of vaccination, said the officials.
