Toronto (WNEWS) – Canada’s prime minister Justin Trudeau and the Canadian delegation who traveled to the United Kingdom and Belgium for the G7 Summit checked in at the final stop from his trip overseas, a three-star hotel near the Ottawa airport to begin the 14-day quarantine until test results arrive.
The Prime Ministers’ office has said that Justin Trudeau, as well as his traveling committee, will follow the same COVID-19 travel rules and restrictions currently being placed on Canadians coming into the country.
The Prime minister and his delegation is expected to remain in their hotel rooms until they receive negative Covid-19 test results. As per a tweet from Abigail Bimman, Trudeau and his delegation were tested approximately ten times for COVID-19 before, during and after the trip to the G7 Summit to the United Kingdom and Belgium.
The Liberal government plans to phase out the policy of forcing people to pay large sums of money to stay at assigned quarantine hotels when they enter the country.
The conservatives, the largest opposition party, on the other hand, called out Justin Trudeau and the liberal party for not staying at a hotel assigned to the general public as a part of the hotel quarantine list.
