Maple Ridge (WNews Vancouver): A fatal early morning accident has killed one person and injured 2 others in East Maple Ridge.
At 5:40, an accident involving two people happened at Gilker Hill and Kanaka Way. The one vehicle with driven by one male with two passengers was involved with a female driver who was driving a Nissan Pathfinder.
The accident killed the male driver and a male was brought to hospital vis Air Ambulance. The conditions are unknown. The road was shut down for 6 hours as Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction invested the crash.
The other male and the female was transported to a local hospital. The road was reopened at 11:30 am after drone technology was used for the investigation process.
No words if speed or alcohol were involved.

Maple Ridge, B.C. – Ridge Meadows RCMP Traffic Services are investigating a fatal collision with assistance from the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS).
On Friday, March 15, at around 5:40 AM, a 2014, Mazda 3, driven by one male with two male passengers and a 2011, Nissan Pathfinder, driven by a female were involved in a serious collision near the intersection of Gilker Hill and Kanaka Way. Tragically, the male driver has passed away. One male was airlifted to hospital via Air Ambulance. A third male and the female were transported to hospital via BC Emergency Health Services.
Our condolences to the family and friends who lost their loved one here today”, states Corporal Amanda Harnett. “The investigation is still in the early stages and ICARS did utilize drone technology as part of the investigation process.”
Roads were closed in both directions since the early morning and reopened around 11:30 AM.
