Langley, BC (WNewsNetwork): Everyday, people get behind the world with their cell phones and are distracted by their phones while driving.
A New Campaign has been launched on GoFundMe which is rising $20,000 for a Documentary regarding Distracted Driving.
Jim Bugg started the campaign because he was a victim of Distraction Driving.
“My name is Jim Bugg and I’m a victim of a distracted driver. I know first hand what it means to suffer from the selfish actions of someone who felt they didn’t need to keep their eyes on the road and their full attention to driving their vehicle. He’s hoping that he can share his story though a theatrical release and make awareness of the rising problem of DD around BC and Canada.
There’s has been calls to increase the fines in BC regarding distraction driving. Since BC introduced Laws to try and cut down on cell phone use, there’s has been increased in use behind the world.
Washington States Introduced similar laws to help cut down laws. If your cop behind the wheel with your cell phone in BC, you get a $175 Fine, one of the lowest in the country.
According to the CAA (Canada Automotive Association), Cell Phones count as one of the most distracting device on the road. 84% of Moter Vehicle accidents were because of driver inattentive to the road.
