The City of Vancouver is looking into revising the rewards it offersÂ to some of its most distinguished citizens, but an opposition NPA councillorÂ is calling the changes “cheap and tacky.”
The Freedom of the City Award is Vancouver’s highest award for distinguished citizens,Â according to the city’s website. The program has been in place since 1936 and was last revised in 1978.
